CAUSEWAY FILMS is a Sydney based production company focused on the development and production of high quality feature films and television drama. Established in 2009 by producer KRISTINA CEYTON, and joined by SAMANTHA JENNINGS in 2013, Causeway Films is committed to making distinctive projects for the international market in collaboration with some of our industry’s most exciting new talent, backed up by high level EPs. Causeway’s first feature project, psychological thriller THE BABADOOK by writer/director Jennifer Kent, and starring Essie Davis (Girl With A Pearl Earring, The Slap), had its World Premiere at the SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL in January 2014. The film will be released theatrically in Australia by Umbrella Entertainment and internationally through eOne Entertainment.
KRISTINA CEYTON's producing credits include award-winning short films SMALL BOXES (2006) and THE GROUND BENEATH (2008). Both films have received great international success, winning over 40 awards collectively. THE GROUND BENEATH was short-listed for nomination for the 2010 Academy Award as Best Live Action Short. Kristina associate produced the Australian feature film NEWCASTLE (2008), and is currently developing a select slate of feature projects, including CARTAGENA by Nam Le (based on the short story of his award winning collection THE BOAT). Kristina is the producer of THE BABADOOK which premiered as part of the 'Park City at Midnght' section at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.
SAM JENNINGS is a Producer, Executive and Developer. She is well known for her work as a Script Consultant, Advisor, Editor and Assessor for high-level organisations across Australia, including national and state agencies, private production companies and established producers. Sam is also an acclaimed independent producer whose short work has sold commercially and won many international awards included the Grand Jury Prix at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival. Sam is developing a feature slate with high-level international EPs including Sheila Hanahan Taylor (AMERICAN PIE, FINAL DESTINATION franchises) and Lynne Vincent McCarthy’s BINGER LAB scholarship recipient LONELY GIRL, with development investment from Jan Chapman (THE PIANO, LANTANA), which was selected the Berlinale Co-Production Market 2014.
